Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is a captivating background to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the dividing line from next door Thailand, where casino betting is prohibited. Eight gambling dens are based in a generally small space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent location, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing income acquired from the gambling halls ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million, and there are a few controls requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; however, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 17:00, and although visas are allegedly needed to pass, there are means around this, as is real of most borders.

The original Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked barge gambling hall, highlights 150 slot machine games and 60 table games. The Naga casino is open all day and night with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of 21, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. There are 150 slots and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machine games and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and sixty six of the normal table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel complex that features a number of amenities aside from the gambling hall, which houses ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slot machine games and eighty eight table games.
