Cambodia Casinos

There is a fascinating background to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just over the border from nearby Thailand, where gambling den betting is not allowed. Eight gambling dens are based in a generally small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent location, a 3 to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing income gained from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of limitations constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; still, investment sources are vague. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and even though visas are for all intents and purposes necessary to cross, there are methods around this, as is real of many border crossings.
The 1st Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored barge gambling hall, features one hundred and fifty slots and 60 table games. The Naga casino is open 24 hours with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of 150 slots and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slots and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and 96 table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and 66 of the common gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 casinos in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive vacation and hotel complex that highlights many amenities on top of the gambling hall, which houses 10,000 square feet of 130 slot machines and 88 gaming tables.
